KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8.56 g, 1 h), Teos, circa 323/2-315. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below the horses, the forepart of a winged boar to right; in exergue, spearhead to right. Le Rider pl. 91, 15 (same dies). Thompson, Philip, 14 (same reverse die). A very rare issue. About extremely fine.
